New Meadow man eyes bright future
Rob Bickerton
Rob Bickerton sees Shrewsbury Town's future two divisions up
New Shrewsbury Town managing director Rob Bickerton says his "ears are open" as he attempts to help lift the New Meadow men towards the Championship.

"Shrewsbury are a club punching below their weight," he said. "And my aim is to explore every avenue of finance.

"If we're to compete with clubs with big fan bases, like Wolves, we need to use our assets as fully as possible."

Bickerton's business background is in IT and sales, where he gained a reputation as a tough negotiator.

Bickerton would appear to have the pedigree to take the club forward, having been chairman at Macclesfield for five years - a comparatively smaller club, but one which made the League Two play-offs and the LDV northern final under his leadership.

But he is also a fan. He will be mingling with supporters during Shrewsbury matches, and stresses that he will be gauging opinions of Town followers.
