Chadwick relishes Shrews pairing

Nick Chadwick
Chadwick thinks his partnership with Grant Holt has come to fruition

Shrewsbury Town striker Nick Chadwick believes he is the right man to partner Grant Holt as the club fight to reach the League Two play-offs.

They slipped out of the play-offs after Dagenham's 3-1 victory over leaders Brentford, but Chadwick is keen to help Shrewsbury regain their place.

"I think me and Grant play well together, I thought that in the four games I played previously."

"That's not blowing our own trumpet but it's worked," he told BBC Shropshire.

Chadwick scored the equaliser against Rotherham at the weekend and the Shrews went on to win 2-1 with the striker scoring his second goal at the club.

"I've missed the last few games but to come back into the side and pick up a couple of good results, that's the main thing," he added.

Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson has a number of options up front, with former Arsenal trainee Omer Riza available for selection after being banned by the Turkish Football Federation for walking out on Trabzonspor.

Town are eighth in League Two on the same number of points as Dagenham and they next play Lincoln City on Saturday at the Prostar stadium.

They then face a trip to Dagenham & Redbridge on the final day of the season.

Shrewsbury Town manager Paul Simpson will be taking your questions on a special football fans phone-in on Friday evening from 1800 BST on BBC Radio Shropshire 96 FM and online at bbc.co.uk/shropshire.
