Drogheda-born Sean Thornton started his career with Tranmere Rovers
Midfielder Sean Thornton is waiting on a decision from Shrewsbury Town boss Paul Simpson about whether he might extend his loan from Leyton Orient.
"Paul Simpson hasn't talked to me about it yet, "Thornton told BBC Radio Shropshire. "But I'd like to stay."
"They're a progressive club, with an exciting team and a fantastic stadium, and clearly going places."
The former Sunderland man, 25, is covering for the injured Paul Murray, still several weeks from a return.
Meanwhile, out-of-favour full-back Darren Moss has turned down a loan move to fellow League Two side Bournemouth, where former Town boss Jimmy Quinn is now in charge.
Moss says he would rather stay and fight for his place at Shrewsbury.
