Davies made over 150 appearances in a four-year spell with Chester

Shrewsbury Town midfielder Ben Davies is relishing the chance to take on his former club Chester City.

Town are on a high after beating Gillingham 7-0 and Davies says they will be going into into Sunday's game on a high.

The 27-year-old told BBC Radio Shropshire: "It will be a tough and tight game but we are going there full of confidence.

"You are always looking to prove a point and do well."

Davies has not lined up against his former club since joining Shrewsbury from Chester in 2006.

"They'll be giving me a bit of stick and boo me every time I get the ball, but that won't bother me as long as we send our fans home happy," he said.
