Stuart Whitehead has been influential since being made captain this summer
AFC Telford United have responded to a hamstring injury for skipper Stuart Whitehead by bringing back Asa Charlton from Hednesford Town.
"I'm hoping rest and treatment mean he won't be out too long," said boss Rob Smith, who hopes to have him fit for the FA Cup tie at Hendon on 11 October.
Fellow defender Simon Forsdick has had his troublesome knee injury diagnosed finally as a medial ligament strain.
He will not have to undergo an operation, but is out for six weeks.
Charlton, who is on the mend from injury himself, started two games while at Hednesford, ended up on the winning side both times.
Telford's meeting with Hendon in the third qualifying round of the Cup will mean an unexpected trip to Wembley.
Hendon beat Dulwich Hamlet in Wednesday night's second qualifying round replay. And that means a trip to Vale Farm, where Hendon play their games, home of Wembley FC.
