Telford look to keep up home form

AFC Telford United start favourites for Saturday's FA Cup second qualifying round clash against Southern League high fliers Corby Town.

Defender Gavin Cowan is Telford boss Rob Smith's main doubt, but is expected to recover from a toe injury picked up in last week's 1-1 draw at Gateshead.

Telford are hoping home advantage will tell, having gone unbeaten in five games at the Bucks Head this term.

Meanwhile, midfielder Simon Forsdick faces a second scan on his knee injury.

"I'm hoping it'll show up nothing more serious than a small ligament tear, rather than a cruciate or cartilage problem," he told BBC Radio Shropshire.

Forsdick is one of two Telford midfielders in the middle of a frustrating fitness battle.

Team-mate Jimmy Turner is in the midst of an intensive fitness programme as he recovers from his own knee operation.

Turner developed an infection after a minor op and then had clean-up surgery after noticing a swelling.
