Terry Fearns celebrates completing his second hat-trick of the season

Terry Fearns overcame his goal drought in style with an FA Cup hat-trick as AFC Telford United beat Corby 3-2.

"It was great to see Terry back in form," said boss Rob Smith after the Telford striker found the target for the first time in nine games.

"But you don't go through being a goalscorer all your career and then suddenly stop," he told BBC Shropshire.

"Terry's gone through a bit of a confidence crisis, but he's worked at it. Hopefully he can now kick on."

After starting the season with four goals in his first three games, Fearns had not scored since 16 August.

But it was a timely return to form to see Telford through to the third qualifying round on 11 October.

But Smith added: "We've put a big emphasis on the FA Cup this season.

"It's a huge competition and we're desperate to do well in it.

"It's massive that we've made it through, and hopefully we can march on."
