Five go as Shrews start clear-out

Luke Jones
Jones had a loan spell at Kidderminster this season

Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson has started his clear-out by releasing Luke Jones, Colin Murdock, Jimmy Ryan, Martin Riley and Michael Barnes.

Murdock started 31 games this season for the Shrews, but will leave alongside fellow defender Jones.

Ryan struggled for games after joining from Liverpool, Barnes was on loan from Manchester United and ex-Wolves man Riley was training with the club.

On-loan Birmingham midfielder Asa Hall is in talks about a permanent move.

Goalkeeper Jasbir Singh, from the club's centre of excellence, has signed a 12-month deal, but the other youngster in the frame - Tom Moss - has been released.
