Jimmy Ryan - one for the future, say Shrewsbury |
Teenage midfielder Jimmy Ryan is being told to be patient in his quest to establish himself at Shrewsbury Town. Ryan made his League debut at Hereford earlier this month but then lost his place to new signing Asa Hall.
"Jimmy showed us that he can play in this league but there's a bit more work to do with his all-round play," Gary Peters told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"He has talent, but he's not even 20, and he's a 'work in progress' here," the Shrewsbury boss added.
The former Liverpool loanee pressed his claim for the first team this week with his fifth goal for Town's reserve side.
He has played just one league match to date but has appeared for Shrewsbury in the Carling Cup and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
"We're quite happy with Jimmy but we know there are one or two things that we can improve and that's what we'll be getting on with," Peters said.
