Neil Mellor set to join Sheffield Wednesday on loan
Neil Mellor joined Preston from Liverpool
Preston striker Neil Mellor is set to join League One side Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan, BBC Radio Lancashire understands.
The 27-year-old will undergo a medical in South Yorkshire before completing the move, which will see him reunited with former Preston boss Alan Irvine.
Mellor was put on the transfer list by North End boss Darren Ferguson at the end of last season.
The former Liverpool man ended last term with 11 goals in 44 appearances.
