Sodje also missed the end of last season through injury
Sheffield Wednesday's Akpo Sodje will not play again this season after straining a hamstring in training.
The 29-year-old striker has made just 11 appearances for Wednesday in a season that has been wrecked by injury.
Owls manager Brian Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield: "For these next couple of games we will pull him out of the way, let's concentrate on getting him fit."
"It has not been a good season for him and I suppose the quicker it is over the better for him."
Sodje has endured a miserable time with injuries since moving from Port Vale in the summer of 2007.
He missed the end of last season after tearing ankle ligaments in January and then damaged tendons in his knee in his comeback game in August.
Laws added: "He is a bit down at the moment, because he is feeling his hamstring. We want to try and get him through the season.
"I don't want to break him down again as he would have to go through the full summer like he did last year.
"He needs a full pre-season and that is our objective for him to do that. We don't need him to do anything now, other than to be ready for next year."
Meanwhile the Owls will not be extending the loan of striker Luke Varney from Derby when his existing deal runs out on Saturday.
