Sodje is a long-standing target for the Owls |
Sheffield Wednesday have signed Port Vale's Akpo Sodje for an undisclosed fee in the region of 300,000. The striker, 27, has signed a four-year contract at Hillsborough, reports BBC Radio Sheffield.
Owls chief executive Kaven Walker said: "It's a fantastic signing for us, we've been chasing him for some time now.
"He'll add power, pace and hopefully goals to the squad, we're trying to give our manager Brian Laws all the tools he needs for promotion."

Sodje scored 16 goals in 53 league and cup appearances for Vale after joining them from Darlington in the summer of 2006. He also previously played for Stevenage, Margate, Gravesend & Northfleet and Huddersfield.
Vale chairman Bill Bratt told his club's website: "Akpo put in a transfer request, but he has done things in the correct way.
"He wanted to play in a higher league and he's never mentioned money once.
"Although we had turned down a few other bids, it was decided we wouldn't want to keep a player that might be dissatisfied.
"We got criticised for letting Leon Constantine go for nothing when we could have sold him halfway through (last) season for 125,000 plus Marc Richards, so you can't win."
Laws had hoped to complete the signing of Sodje's brother Sam, after a fee was agreed last week.
However, the 28-year-old Reading defender now looks set to join Charlton on loan.
