Blades bring Bromby back to club

Sheffield United defender Leigh Bromby
Bromby is cup tied for the FA Cup clash with Leyton Orient.

Sheffield United have re-signed their former defender Leigh Bromby from Watford, initially on loan.

The 28-year-old was sold by Bryan Robson 12 months ago because the then-manager said he could not guarantee Bromby first-team football.

And Bromby's first game back in Blades colours could be against the Hornets on Saturday. He is cup tied for Tuesday's FA Cup clash with Leyton Orient.

An undisclosed fee for a permanent transfer has already been agreed.

Bromby told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I'm over the moon and I can't wait to get started again.

"It's happened so fast - I only found out this weekend. It was an easy decision to make as soon as I heard Sheffield United were interested and I'm delighted to be back.

"The last 12 months have been quite difficult but I'm hoping I can have good times again at Sheffield United and another promotion.

"I've played a lot of games for Watford but home is where the heart is and I'm looking to progress with Sheffield United."
