Jonathan Grounds' goal earned Norwich a point and ensured they remained above relegation rivals Doncaster.
Paul Heffernan headed home from close range to give Doncaster the lead midway through the first half after David Marshall's brave initial save.
Norwich suffered a blow just before the break when Darel Russell went off injured, to be replaced by Carl Cort.
Grounds, on loan from Middlesbrough, equalised after an hour with a well-placed header past Neil Sullivan.
Norwich manager Bryan Gunn told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"I'm a bit disappointed that we went down 1-0 in the first half, a big hopeful ball into the box, and a lack of communication and nobody taking ownership of the ball, we're disappointed with that.
"But the positive turnaround at half time, big Carl Cort coming on and using his size, but also showing he's got a great touch and bringing others into the play.
"The lads put in a sterling performance, we're very proud of them."
Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll:
"It's a pitch more suited to growing potatoes than playing football.
"We like to pass the ball around, we are not a team that goes route one.
