Adkins has seen his Scunthorpe side win six games in a row
Scunthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins has put the club's recent success down to a solid scouting system.
The Iron are currently second in League One and the United boss said he his proud of the club's recruitment policy.
He told BBC Look North: "We've got an excellent track record of developing players at this club.
"Players that nobody wanted and nobody has heard of come in and one or two can move on to bigger and better things, but not just yet."
Scunthorpe's scouting structure has spotted a string of players, particularly in attack, and the likes of Andy Keogh, Billy Sharp and Martin Paterson have all moved on for big money in the last few seasons.
The trend has continued this season with the signing of Gary Hooper from Southend United, who has already notched seven goals in seven league games.
