Rushden & Diamonds captain Jamie Stuart believes the club's new signings have the right work ethic to fire them to success this season.
Eight new recruits have arrived at Nene Park this summer.
Stuart told BBC Radio Northampton: "The manager signs hard working players, so it's credit to him my job is made easier. He doesn't like lazy players.
"We were short of what we wanted to achieve last season. The new lads look good and we want to go a step further."
Diamonds were losing semi-finalists in the play-offs last season.
"I think you have to use that disappointment," added Stuart.
"If you're hungry, you want to keep getting better. If you don't, I think you're just in it for the money."
