Pattison eyes Diamonds promotion

Rushden & Diamonds

Rushden and Diamonds' new signing Matt Pattison thinks he can help the club achieve promotion this season.

The winger told BBC Radio Northampton: "I can score and set up goals and I like to think I am a hard worker, the club will get the best out of me.

"With the players we have got here, there is definitely a chance we can be up there pressing for promotion."

Meanwhile, assistant manager Michael Stone has said that they are not finished in the transfer market yet.

Rushden have brought in seven new players since the end of last season and it will also be Justin Edinburgh's full season in charge after replacing Garry Hill.

Stone told BBC Radio Northampton: "There's certainly one or two areas we would like to finish off in terms of giving us the depth we need.

"It's a long season and we need to get the depth correct."

Other new arrivals to Nene Park since last season's mid-table finish in the Blue Square Premier include Craig Farrell, Max Porter, Simon Downer, Kurt Robinson and Nick McNamara.
