Rochdale have signed winger Nicky Adams on loan for a month from League One leaders Leicester City.
The 22-year-old joined the Foxes from Bury in the summer but has struggled to make the first team.
"In the last month or so I have not really figured so I spoke to the gaffer saying I just want to be playing," Adams told the club website.
"He didn't really want me to go out but after hearing my side of things he agreed and I am very grateful to him".
Adams was expected to join Rochdale last summer when he left Bury, but instead the midfielder opted for a move to the Walkers Stadium.
"Obviously there were a lot of rumours during the summer that I was going to come here but two big clubs, Leicester City and Sheffield United, came in for me and I couldn't really turn the chance down to be fair.
Hopefully I can get some games under my belt while I am here and if all goes well maybe I can stay for longer

"I speak to (Rochdale assistant boss) Dave Flitcroft a lot and he told me to sign for Leicester City as it would be a great experience for me."
Adams has made 16 appearances for Leicester this season and scored one goal, but he has not featured since a substitute appearance against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
The Wales under-21 international is now hoping to get a regular run in the team at Spotland.
"Hopefully I can get some games under my belt while I am here and if all goes well maybe I can stay for longer," he added.
