Jay Tabb 'not sulking' over lack of Reading starts

Reading's Jay Tabb says he is not sulking over his lack of starts.

Tabb has made four starts and three substitute appearances in the Royals' eight league matches since returning from a foot injury in October.

"It's just one of those things," the midfielder told BBC Berkshire. "I never sulk because being a professional footballer is a great thing.

"We're a talented squad so not everyone can play. I just got to be ready and take my chance when I get it."

Reading travel to Derby on Saturday having drawn their last five league matches to slip to 12th in the Championship table.

But the former Republic of Ireland international, now 26, is confident the Royals can win their first game since their 4-3 victory over Doncaster in October.

"We are always looking for our next win so we can push higher up the table," he said.

"I think we are going in the right direction, we're not losing and two clean sheets on the bounce is positive so we just need a couple of goals and a few wins and we'll be right up there."
