Managerless Preston North End have signed Barnsley striker Iain Hume for an undisclosed fee after a loan spell.
The Canada international played 14 times for North End during his three-month stay, scoring four times.
The former Tranmere and Leicester player, 27, will officially complete the move to Deepdale on 1 January.
North End chairman Maurice Lindsay told the club website: "His effervescent qualities and energy have brought something different to our squad."
Meanwhile, Michael Tonge and Danny Pugh have returned to Stoke from their loan spells with Preston.
