Preston sign Peterborough's Tommy Williams on loan
Williams' deal at Peterborough expires this summer
Preston have signed Peterborough full-back Tommy Williams on loan until the end of the season as cover for injured skipper Callum Davidson.
Williams, 29, will rejoin his former boss Darren Ferguson at Deepdale after returning from a two-month loan spell at Queens Park Rangers in January.
Ferguson told the club website: "Tom knows the league, has good experience, is quick and has good size."
The left-footed defender is available for Preston's trip to Derby on Tuesday.
Ferguson added: "He gives us that balance we've been looking for down the left-hand side.
"We have been playing right-footed players on the left-hand side and whilst the people who have been doing that have done OK, Tom can give us that extra balance. He is with us on loan and we will see how it goes."
The former Birmingham and Barnsley player, who has made 18 appearances for Posh this season, has spent three spells at QPR, making five appearances during his recent loan spell at the club.
