Williams only moved to Gillingham during the summer |
League One leaders Swansea City have agreed a deal to sign Gillingham defender Tom Williams. Williams will complete his move to Swansea for an undisclosed fee when the transfer-window opens on 1 January.
The 25-year-old, who can also play in midfield, joined Gillingham from Barnsley in the summer following spells with Birmingham, QPR and Peterborough.
"He is a player we have been watching for quite some time," Swans chairman Huw Jenkins told his club's website.
"We are delighted to finally clinch the deal. He is highly rated in football circles - hence the fact that Birmingham paid 350,000 for him a few years ago."
