Brown is set to return to Tigers

Defender Wayne Brown is preparing to play his final game in a Preston shirt on Tuesday night before returning to parent club Hull.

The 31-year-old will face Derby away in his sixth and final game for Preston.

He told BBC Radio Lancashire: "It's been an enjoyable month. Hopefully I've helped Preston get some good results.

"I'm looking to get away on a permanent basis in January and I don't think Preston are in a position to offer money to Hull."

He added: "I still want to be successful and enjoy my football. The only way I'm going to do that is if I play week-in week-out and try to have an impact on a team."

The former Colchester player, who has played twice for Hull this season, is disappointed that North End cannot retain his services.

"It's always difficult for clubs that have spent in the past. They've now got to build on the team that they've got.

"It's down to me to go back to Hull and work as hard as I can. If I can force my way in to the first team then obviously that's my aim. But if I can't, I've got to keep myself fit and if something happens in January then so be it."
