Assistant manager Geoff Horsfield has asked everyone at Port Vale to pull together as they bid for promotion.
Vale are three points away from the top seven in League Two with four matches remaining, starting with a home game against Stockport on Saturday.
"We've got to stick together because we're in a better position than we were last season," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"The emphasis is still on us, we've got a great chance of making the play-offs but we have to stick together."
As well as facing the bottom club in the Football League, Vale also have to travel to relegation-threatened Barnet on the final day of the campaign.
"They're both fighting for their lives so it's going to be extremely difficult," Horsfield continued.
"They [Stockport] have got to get as many points as they can to get to safety so it's going to be an open game and hopefully we'll come out on top."
The Valiants won 5-0 at Edgeley Park in November, their biggest victory of the season so far.
