Gareth Owen believes Port Vale will bounce back strongly from a home defeat against Barnet when Lincoln City visit Vale Park on Tuesday evening.
Following 10 successive away defeats, the Bees took advantage of a poor Vale performance to win 2-0 on Saturday.
"These are times for people to stand up and be counted," defender Owen, 27, told BBC Radio Stoke. "We are the ones that can put things right.
"It's up to us, no mistake about it, and hopefully we can turn it round."
Vale slipped to 15th in League Two after two goals from John O'Flynn condemned Micky Adams' side to their second home defeat in a row.
"We feel like we've let ourselves down and everyone else down," continued Owen. "It's not the performance that we associate with ourselves.
"I don't think many positives can be taken from the game. You just have to get your head down and keep working hard."
