Barnet ended a run of 10 successive away defeats with a deserved win over out-of-sorts Port Vale.
The Bees opened the scoring in the seventh minute when John O'Flynn fired in from close range after Paul Furlong headed down a cross from Albert Adomah.
Craig Davies and Sean Rigg had chances to level it for Vale, while O'Flynn and Furlong might have added to the lead.
But O'Flynn wrapped it up six minutes from time with his 14th goal of the season from Albert Jarrett's cross.
Port Vale assistant manager Geoff Horsfield told BBC Radio Stoke: "We were very very poor and I think some of us, as players, were cowards today.
"Barnet were better than us. They won more balls in the area, they won more second balls and they had more desire.
"We were flat from the beginning. We started poorly like we did last week and against Chesterfield and it's just not good enough."
Barnet manager Ian Hendon told BBC London 94.9 that:
"We've had some performances away from home that have probably deserved more than what we got."
"Today everybody did their job and it was a good performance.
"We dug in, we worked our socks off and got a good result."
