Fraser was named Vale captain after signing from Brighton in the summer
Tommy Fraser believes Port Vale are one of the fittest teams in League Two because of the punishing training sessions that the team take part in.
Vale have played one match since 12 December but the Vale skipper said their lack of match practice has increased their workload in training.
"We've been working our socks off," Fraser told BBC Radio Stoke.
"We haven't got any excuses now because we're probably the fittest that we've been all season."
The 22-year-old midfielder continued: "As much as you moan about it (training) at the time, deep down you know you need it and you know it's good for you.
"The manager [Micky Adams] has been brilliant and he's been clever like that. He's kept on top of us, he said he won't let us down and he hasn't because he's kept us fit."
Fraser became Adams' first signing when he moved to Vale Park on a free transfer from Brighton in the summer.
He is confident that Vale can still reach the play-offs this season, despite lying 14th in the table, seven points behind seventh-placed Aldershot.
"I think we should be in the top seven at least, if you think about how many games we've drawn," added Fraser.
"Even if we were in the same position with 10 games to go, there's still time. If we string a few wins together instead of those draws and keep the form up, you never know."
