Fraser targets League Two title

New signing Tommy Fraser reckons Port Vale are genuine contenders to finish the season as League Two champions.

"As far as I'm concerned, we're going for the league," Fraser told BBC Radio Stoke. "We want to finish as high as possible.

"We're gunning for first, second or third. I like a battle. If teams want a fight, we'll fight with them."

The 21-year-old midfielder signed from Brighton in June, after playing over 100 games for the Seagulls.

All of Brighton-born Fraser's 51 league starts have been in League One. But he is not worried that his game will be affected by dropping down a division.

"I don't think it should be a problem," said Fraser, signed by Micky Adams after playing under the new Vale boss at the Withdean. "It might take me a while to get used to it.

"But I'm just concentrating on going out there and making sure we pick up some wins."
