Crewe Alexandra are considering striker Hamdi Razak after the trialist scored twice in Sunday's 7-0 win over Newcastle Town.
The 23-year-old Frenchman is currently unattached after being released by League One club Swindon Town in May.
Alex boss Gudjon Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke: "He took his goals very well and is worth another look."
Crewe also giving trials to former Swindon midfielder Michael Pook and ex-MK Dons defender Nathan Koo-Boothe.
Thordarson added that he was pleased with his side's opening pre-season friendly.

The other Alex goals came from new vice-captain Anthony Elding (2) Calvin Zola (2) and Clayton Donaldson.
