Adams' side remained unbeaten in League Two throughout October
Port Vale boss Micky Adams has thanked his players after being nominated for the October manager of the month award.
Vale went through the month unbeaten in League Two, winning two and drawing three of their five games.
"It's obviously a reflection of what the team's done," the former Brighton boss told BBC Radio Stoke.
"Whilst I'm at the forefront of everything that's good or bad, it's nice to be recognised for the work that we've done recently."
The Valiants were victorious over Shrewsbury Town and Crewe Alexandra, while they earned draws with Bournemouth, Cheltenham and Dagenham & Redbridge.
Vale also progressed to the area quarter-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a 3-1 success over League One side Stockport.
John Sheridan (Chesterfield), Keith Hill (Rochdale) and Paul Peschisolido (Burton) have also been nominated for the award, with the winner being announced on Saturday.
Vale are unbeaten since their defeat at Notts County on 26 September, after which Adams made every player in his squad available for transfer.
Meanwhile, Vale chairman Bill Bratt was at Buckingham Palace on Thursday to collect his MBE for services to sport, and Adams said it is fully deserved.
"He works tirelessly on my behalf to try and get funds so that we can improve the squad. Nobody works any harder than Bill does," added Adams.
"I've got a fantastic working relationship with him. He was instrumental in getting me the position here at Port Vale and I'll always be grateful for that."
