Port Vale chairman Bill Bratt is making a good recovery after an operation which stopped him being paralysed from the waist down.
The 63-year-old underwent emergency surgery last month after collapsing and losing the use of his legs.
Bratt told BBC Radio Stoke: "I have had lots of cards, text messages and phone calls, so I'd like to thank everyone for that."
The operation has been a success and the chairman is now back at work again.
