Port Vale defender Kris Taylor has spoken of his delight at getting his first goal for the club in the shock 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Taylor's 30-yard strike set Vale on the way to taking their second Championship scalp in the Carling Cup this season.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "It's always nice to get your first goal and when it's a decent one it's even better.
"The main thing was the performance of the lads. Every one of us did our bit and it was a great result."
Rob Taylor scored the second goal for Vale, who beat Wednesday's rivals Sheffield United in the first round, to secure their place in the third round draw.
Kris Taylor signed a short-term contract with Vale after being released by Hereford during the summer. He hopes the team can repeat their cup heroics in the league when they meet his old side at Edgar Street on Saturday.
"It's about going there with the same mentality and the same attitude that we've shown tonight and performing," he said.
