Adams queries players' attitudes

Port Vale manager Micky Adams has questioned his players' attitudes and approach to games ahead of the new season kicking off.

He highlighted a lack of aggression after the 2-2 draw against Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday.

Adams told BBC Radio Stoke: "I won't stand for players not being committed, at times it was powder-puff stuff."

The former Fulham and Leicester boss took charge at Vale Park in June after Dean Glover was sacked.

Adams will take his team to Nantwich Town on Tuesday, before Saturday's season opener at home to Rochdale.

He added: "If we adopt a mentality to the game that we think it's easy, then we will have problems. You can't just turn it on and off, some of this mob won't get in my reserve side if they continue to play like that.

"I won't allow the players here as they have done in the past, to get managers the sack, and that won't happen to me."

The Valiants finished 18th in League Two last season, losing more than half of their games.
