Striker Kevin Gall has said the Port Vale players must take responsibility for their performances and not shift the blame to manager Dean Glover.
At least 200 supporters protested at the end of Vale's last home game in League Two - a 3-1 defeat by Luton.
Gall told BBC Radio Stoke: "We're in a results business and it's down to us to do our best for the manager.
"He can't play the game for us, it's down to us as individuals to put their bodies on the line for him."
Gall added: "If people don't want to do that then they shouldn't be at the club.

"It's become so important these days. You've got to do well and be consistent otherwise you'll find yourself without a club."
Gall joined Vale on loan from Carlisle in February and has made two appearances without scoring.
Glover's side will be aiming for their second consecutive away victory when they play Bournemouth on Saturday at 1500 GMT.
