Griffith signed for Vale on a free transfer from Doncaster last summer
Port Vale need an unbeaten run to build confidence for next season, according to utility man Anthony Griffith.
In their first season in League Two, Vale have failed to put together a run of more than two games without defeat.
"We need to put a little run together and carry on the form that we've been showing in the last two games," Griffith told BBC Radio Stoke.
"We need to look forward to next year. It's unrealistic we'll go down, so a mid-table finish is realistic for us."
Griffith puts the team's inconsistency so far this season down to the number of changes that manager Dean Glover has been forced to make to his starting line-up.
He added: "He's had to fiddle about with it for a while because he needs to see which players are better at things than others.
"It's his first managerial job so it will be hard for him, but he's dealing with the players fine in my opinion."
Vale's away match at Exeter was cancelled on Tuesday because of the adverse weather conditions around the country.
Their next chance to extend their unbeaten run to three matches is against Aldershot at Vale Park on Saturday.
