Port Vale manager Dean Glover has tipped James Lawrie for a big future, after the striker scored his first goal for the club in the win over Chester.
Lawrie, 18, came off the bench to score the Valiants' third goal in the 3-0 win at Vale Park on Tuesday.
Glover told BBC Radio Stoke: "He's been itching to get his chance.
"He's got a good footballing brain and he took his goal brilliantly. He's potentially one we need to keep hold of because he has a big future."
The win was only Vale's fifth at Vale Park this season and Glover said it was nice to give the home fans something to cheer about.

"The fans have gone through a lot and we haven't won enough games for them," said Glover.
"We've got five to six thousand people turning up and we need to reward them for the belief they've shown in us.
"Now we've got to hope that we can kick-on from this result," he added.
