Griffith signed on a free transfer from Doncaster in June
Port Vale midfielder Anthony Griffith has insisted he is happy to play at right-back after a confident display there against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Griffith moved from midfield to cover for the suspended Sam Stockley in the back four in the 3-1 win at Vale Park.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I told the fans and the gaffer I would do a job anywhere in the team.
"I could have still played in midfield, but then we would have had a problem at right-back, so I was happy to do it."
Griffith has been an ever-present for Vale so far this season, following his free transfer from Doncaster Rovers in June.
The 21-year-old is turning his attentions to a possible trip to Wembley in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, having missed out on an appearance there in the League One play-off final with his previous club.
Vale take on Stockport at Edgeley Park in the first round on Tuesday, and Griffith says a good cup run will be a welcome bonus.
"We're concentrating on the league because that's the main aim, but it's a good little cup to have a run-in," he said.
"I didn't play when Doncaster got to Wembley because I was on loan at the time.
"It would be a dream come true for me to go there, and it would be a special occasion for all of the lads."
