Sinnott is best manager - Rodgers

Port Vale striker Luke Rodgers has said his manager Lee Sinnott is the right man to take the club forward.

Sinnott has won just four of the 27 games he has been in charge of for Vale since joining the club in November.

But despite the team looking almost certain to be relegated to League Two, Rodgers has faith in his manager.

Rodgers told BBC Radio Stoke: "He's brilliant, probably the best manager I've had. He's given us all a chance and he's been fair to everyone."

He added: "Results haven't gone his way, but I hope we can turn it round between now and the end of the season."

The 26-year-old is Vale's top goalscorer this season with 12, but he has been in and out of the team since Sinnott's arrival.

Vale have picked up four points from their last two games, but remain 14 points from safety at the bottom of League One.
