Plymouth Argyle have signed goalkeeper Kyle Letheren on a short-term contract as cover for Romain Larrieu.

Manager Paul Sturrock has been forced to bring in a replacement after Lloyd Saxton was told he needs surgery to cure a wrist problem.

Letheren, 21, was a free agent after being released by Barnsley in June.

He has previously had loan spells with Newport County and Doncaster, and goes straight into the squad to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
