Plymouth Argyle hope that captain Krisztian Timar may be back in time for the start of the season.
The Hungarian defender, 28, fractured his forehead after a clash of heads with Wolves defender George Elokobi on the final day of last season.
Physio Paul Maxwell told the club website Timar may be fit in time for the opening game of the new campaign, ironically against the Molineux outfit.
"He should be there or thereabouts by the start of the season," said Maxwell.
Timar was back for pre-season training on Thursday and Maxwell says he will wear head protection when the side starts work with the ball next week.
