Atkinson filmed his 2006 television show 'Big Ron Manager' at Posh
Ron Atkinson believes Peterborough United have the talent to survive in the Championship, despite their slow start to the new season.
The former Manchester United and Aston Villa boss filmed his 2006 television show 'Big Ron Manager' at London Road.
Atkinson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "If they manage to get bedded down and get used to playing in the Championship, they will be fine.
"But the all-important thing is that they survive this season."
Posh have won just two of their 15 league matches so far this season and currently sit 23rd in the table.
Atkinson feels their financial advantage has been eroded following successive promotions.
I saw them play against West Brom in the FA Cup last year and I've always felt they would be able to step up - they just need time

"In the previous two divisions they've had an advantage, because financially they have been able to compete with anybody," he said.
"But they're in a league now with the likes of Newcastle and their mega-millions, so anyone who expects them to go zooming again must have been reading comic books."
Posh have chosen to stick with most of the players who won promotion from League One last season.
And Atkinson says it will take time for their young stars to adapt to life in the Championship.
"I saw them play against West Brom in the FA Cup last year and I've always felt they would be able to step up - they just need time," he added.
