Pearce helped Scunthorpe win promotion to the Championship

Peterborough United have secured Birmingham City defender Krystian Pearce on a year-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old played the first half of Posh's friendly against Aston Villa on Saturday and completed his move to London Road on Monday.

Posh manager Darren Ferguson said: "He is still young and fits in with the criteria we are looking for.

"He is quick and powerful and in my opinion a very good signing for the club," the Scot added.

Ferguson said Pearce would be the last new player to arrive at the club before the start of the Championship season.
