Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry has revealed he is trying to bring in two new players to London Road.
With Posh securing promotion to the Championship, boss Darren Ferguson is keen to strengthen his squad.
Fry told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We made bids when we went up for a couple of players Darren had identified.
"We've agreed the price with certain clubs and we want to conclude those deals as soon as possible."
It was Fry who sold the club to current owner Darragh Macanthony in September 2006, since then the chairman has made it his aim to take Posh as high as he can.
With that in mind Fry is confident Macanthony will be flexing his financial muscle as much as he can to make an assault on the Championship play-offs.
Fry added: "Knowing the young ambitious chairman and manager they'll both want to go into the Championship to compete.
"Obviously the squad needs strengthening and I think there's a lot of wheeling and dealing to be done."
Fry would not be pushed on the exact credentials of the players involved but added Peterborough would not be allowed to talk to individuals about contracts until the end of the season.
