Morgan missed Wales' friendly with Poland on Wednesday
Peterborough United defender Craig Morgan has revealed his toe injury is taking longer to heal than he had originally hoped.
Morgan, 23, suffered the injury in the 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield on 31 January and missed last Tuesday's win over Brighton.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'm waiting for the bruising to come out, so I can't put a timescale on it.
"It's not going as quickly as I hoped it would."
Morgan remains unavailable for Saturday's match against Yeovil at London Road, and also looks set to miss out when Posh go to Tranmere on Tuesday.
Manchester United loanee James Chester made his debut in place of Morgan at Brighton, but the former Milton Keynes and Wrexham man hopes to return to action sooner rather than later.
"I had an X-ray and there was no break, which was good news, but the bruising is in the bone and it might take a while to come out," he said.
"I've been doing some work on it, I'm in early and home late being treated and hope to be back as quickly as possible."
Morgan also missed out on playing for Wales in their friendly against Poland on Wednesday, but he says he is simply relieved to have got away with bruising rather than a break.
"It's one of the first squads I've missed in three or fours years, so it's disappointing but I've been fairly lucky with injuries since coming to Posh," he said.
