Peterborough United striker Aaron Mclean is not fazed by the prospect of having more competition for places.
The 25-year-old has formed an impressive strike partnership with Craig Mackail-Smith at London Road.
Director of football Barry Fry has been candid about Posh's attempts to purchase a forward in January.
But Mclean told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'm not really too bothered. I'm confident that as long as I'm performing I'll be in the team."
Fry had revealed that Peterborough had been in talks with three clubs, two in the Premier League and one in the Championship, but made it clear that any signing would act as support for Mclean and Mackail-Smith.
Mclean added: "It's down to me and down to Craig and whoever it is that does come in will have to fight for their place just like everyone else."
The former Grays Athletic man had missed most of September through injury but has netted five times in the league since his return.
