Peterborough United goalkeeper Joe Lewis believes a regular back four will be important for a successful season in League One.
Posh are away at Scunthorpe on Saturday and Lewis wants another clean sheet following last weekend's 3-0 win over Leyton Orient.
Lewis told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We need to get a settled back four.
"When we went on a good run last season it was that getting us victories and clean sheets and consistency."
He added: "I'm happy with the back four at the minute, we seem very solid after the first couple of games.
"A few mistakes let us down but we've got them out of our system now and we can get better and better."
With Wales international Craig Morgan and Chris Westwood set to continue anchoring the defence in the centre, and Russell Martin at right-back, the only question is who will fill the left-back position.
Tom Williams and Shane Blackett have both played there this season but Jamie Day is fit again and could challenge for a starting place against Scunthorpe.
After losing against Southend on the opening day, Lewis said it came as a relief to secure a win in their second League One match since they achieved promotion.
"It's important to get the first win under belt as the longer you go without a win, the more anxious you become," he said.
"You might see a little bit of tension released from the lads and hopefully we can get the ball down and play the normal way now.
"We did that last Saturday and that's how we got the result."
