Oxford United re-sign Plymouth Argyle's Steven MacLean
MacLean has scored two goals in nine league appearances for the U's
Oxford United have re-signed Plymouth Argyle striker Steven MacLean on loan until the end of the season.
MacLean, 28, has scored two goals in nine league appearances, having joined the U's in November.
"I'm looking forward to getting my head down now and hopefully scoring some goals and helping the team push for promotion," MacLean told BBC Oxford.
"I'm delighted it's all sorted out, the lads and manager have been excellent and the fans are a different class.
Oxford boss Chris Wilder added: "This is a fantastic boost for us. To sign a player of Steve's calibre shows the direction that this club is moving in both on and off the pitch."
The former Aberdeen striker scored the equalising goal in Saturday's 2-1 home win over Bradford City.
The victory leaves the U's ninth in the League Two table, just one point and two places adrift of the play-off places and MacLean believes the U's are good enough to win promotion this season.
"Of course we are good enough. We want to get in and around the play-offs, it's what everyone is working towards," he said.
"We can't afford to get complacent. We just need to keep winning games and performing well because we have nothing to fear off anybody."
