Wilder hopes to bolster Oxford United with new players

Chris Wilder
Oxford have won only four out of 15 games in League Two this season

Oxford United manager Chris Wilder says he will need to bring in new players if his side are to improve their recent slump in form.

The U's suffered their third successive defeat on Saturday, as they were beaten by Burton in the FA Cup first round.

Wilder told BBC Oxford: "We're going through a tough time. The players are going through a dip in confidence and need a bit of help.

"We need to bring two or three players in to bolster us up."

Oxford are currently 15th in League Two with 17 points from their first 15 games.

"It's been a difficult last three or four weeks," Wilder added.

"It's a test for everybody, supporters, players, all of us.

"I don't want to hear hard luck stories, but at the moment we're not winning and we have to turn it around pretty quickly, and I have full confidence that we will.

"We need help, but we need to help ourselves as well."
