Oxford United midfielder Simon Clist will miss the start of pre-season training after undergoing a minor operation on his groin.
The 29-year-old was a key figure in the U's promotion campaign last season, featuring in 52 league and cup games.
He is expected to be sidelined for three weeks.
Clist was missing as United players returned to the Kassam Stadium for initial fitness tests with full training beginning next week.
