Deering is seen as one of Oxford's biggest young talents
Oxford United midfielder Sam Deering has agreed a new two-year contract at the Kassam Stadium.
The 19-year-old is a successful product of the club's youth academy and has been in fine form since returning to the side after a broken leg.
Deering said: "I am enjoying my football and it is great to be part of what is happening here.
"The manager and coaches have been great with me and I feel that my game is developing all the time."
He added: "The whole club is moving forwards and I want to try and play as big a part in that as I can.
"The fans in particular have been brilliant with me and I would love to give them something to celebrate this season and over the next couple of years."
Deering made his breakthrough last season, playing 23 times before breaking his leg in Chris Wilder's first game on Boxing Day 2008.
He was out of first-team action for 10 months but returned in October after a brief loan spell at Newport and has made 12 appearances this season, scoring once.
